[ Almost before he's even registered Blue he's throwing out a hand, calling down a blessing over him. Healing is next, and several waves of green light wash out over Blue between Ashraf's steps. He looks weary, and he's dressed only in casual clothes instead of his usual robes, but he stands as firm as ever. ]

Is that enough? [ But he's already turning, starting for the nearest loading bay doors. Any more can be given on the go. ] I can give you more if you need it.

[never going to be used to the rush that causes, especially when already jacked up on adrenaline.

he picks up pace to follow behind him before just outright pushing off the ground to glide and match pace.]

Tend to yourself, if you can. This is enough. [it almost feels like more than enough, like he should rocket on out there alone and...

that'd be terribly reckless. let's not.] Every shred of this is yours, the second you pass through those doors. I can point you in the right direction, and I need not tell you to hurry. [because you better.]

[ He casts another spell as they walk, once for each of them, to speed their steps. or, you know, their floating, as the case may be. ]

Will you still be able to talk to me, when I'm out there?

[ugh. he's thinking...he should've asked Ros or somebody to back him up while he's preoccupied. what if there's something more going on in the base? since all he knows is something's up with Koltira and somebody's probably dead and it may or may not be Ashraf's fault...

too late. decisions made. doors ahead. Blue lands, still glowing, and fixes Ashraf with an intense stare, manifesting the psionic bubble that will shield him from space outside.]

But, Ashraf. [wait.] If he tries to harm you in that state, it won't be safe for you. [or that shield.]

That's fine.

[ He watches the doors ahead of them steadily, feeling a little like a racing peco about to burst out of the stable and onto the track. He takes a breath, trying to calm his nerves. ]

I won't be out there for more than a few seconds after I find him. [ He glances over, solemn. ] I'm going to warp both of us back to the base, into VR Room #4. If it takes me longer than three hours to come out again, will you call on Cheria?

[ Cheria, with the resurrection spell. How useful. ]

[NO IT IS NOT FINE Blue's glare distinctly says. because you will probably explode and die.

...well the teleporting is a relief, but Blue's gaze wavers at the name.

he doesn't know any Cheria.]

Cheria. [...no, he definitely doesn't.] Think on them, just a moment. So I know who to seek.

[ He nods, and obligingly closes his eyes to pull her into his mind. Cheria Barnes, pink hair, sweet, works in the Clinic... he glances over again. ]

Like that?

[he stares past him, absorbing that.

he nods slow, then quickly when he's very certain.]

I'll remember.

Thank you. [ He steps toward the airlock doors, frowns at them, and just barely manages to avoid rolling his eyes. This space stuff is a headache, man. ]

Do you know how to open these, or should I call on AI?

[he steps toward a doorlock panel, hovering his hand and debating on simply shorting it out to work, but...let's not break everything. tap, tap...luckily, no password needed.

the doors open to a small room and other doors.]

Once these close, the others will open. [he is quick to reach and grab Ashraf by the arm before he can move forward, eyes wincing a little at the influx of emotion that comes from that.]

You owe me nothing, but even so. As a friend...Please come to me when this is all over.

[he lets go.] Now go.

[ It's a tiny smile, but warm, and he's not sure he can manage more than that right now. ]

I will, promise.

[ Then the smile fades away again as the doors open, and with one more breath, he strides through. ]

[breathe. focus. make that shield count...make it able to withstand at least one sword blow.

and hit that button and let him out into that horrible, vacant frontier.

Blue's mind will follow him, steer him toward the path of anguish Koltira's thoughts left behind.]
