[ On one hand, if Blue is so understanding and forgiving, far be it from him to keep arguing that. (though he will get A Look™ when he tries to pull the blame onto himself)
On the other, Yzak still feels kind of bad! And it shows in the way his expression flickers, but doesn't entirely change. ]

But after a moment of quick mental gymnastics, his tight expression gives as he tries to forcefully logic himself out of that line of thinking. Because it's not the same! He knows it! And yet, the mind could not help but go there anyway. How ridiculous. And all because of this ... mouse squirrel whatever thing.
He lets out a small grumble. ]

You gave each other quite a scare... [and while Yzak is trying to reconfigure the act of accidentally swatting his partner away from mass crimes against the Geneva Conventions, the little mouse's tiny, magical life just flashed before its eyes and ended in prospects of teeth and suffering.
Blue just has to keep poise to calm these wild tides, doesn't he.]
Let me settle this creature in another room to calm itself for a while; we can try a reintroduction later, yes?
[ While Blue does that, Yzak makes his way over to the couch, sets himself dramatically down on it with a poomf, the image of sulk sans the crossed arms since. Well.

His eyes fall on Blue when he speaks again. He's still got on a little frown, but otherwise his expression has softened some. He's trying. ]

When they're small they rely entirely on you. You've got to feed them, give them attention, teach them things. Some people put leashes on their kids. Of course, the kids grow and learn to speak while you've got to keep most of that up with a pet.

It's a thing! When kids are in that stage where they can move around but aren't entirely keen on listening to warning or completely aware of danger. I've seen plenty of people resort to that so a kid doesn't manage to dart off a staircase or straight into a lake or some shit!
My... [he can't help the smile, sorry Yzak. this is so weird to hear.] Taking care of children when you don't have psionics... It seems quite troublesome.
Because they're unpredictable in an entirely different way than an adult can be.

Of course, but... I can't recall a time we've been compelled to restrain them in such a way. Understanding the source of their distress from inside, without words...it helps us solve problems without such...dramatic methods.

Well, if it's going to stay then it's going to need things. What do people get for pets aside from food... Toys? A bed? A litter box? —this thing better know how to use one of those unless it goes outside, too!
