[Blue doesn't sense him coming this time, thanks to that fault in his psionics. but he hears the door and, moreover, the little mouse that had come out of the Baba Yaga trials with him is even keener of hearing, perking up right away at the sound. there's no one else Blue could imagine it being, so there's no fear in him beyond the sound of the door opening unexpectedly. this informs the mouse's own reaction, prompting it to leap off the Mu's lap and leave the bedroom to go investigate.

[ Where did this thing come from? Is there a window open in one of their rooms that this thing crawled in from? What the fuck even IS it? A squirrel? A rat? Oh god, what if it has rabies or something? Is Blue okay? What if this little shit bit him!? He already saved Blue once! He doesn't need him dying from rabies after all of his hard work! ]
[ Clearly this is a RODENT and it is FILTHYING HIS CLEAN, PERFECT HOME.

[ He cries out, as those Coordinator reflexes kick in and he tries (tries being the keyword) to get to it and slam a foot down onto its tail before it can scurry away and get under something and chew their wires! ]
[well, Blue knows he's home now!! because of both that, the stomp, and the squeal from the little fluffball as it jumps and scampers, making a bullet-fast beeline under the couch.
the Mu gets up quickly, alarmed, and steps out into the open living area to behold the drama as it unfolds.]
[Blue's a bit slow to understanding the potential danger, but Yzak's not a liar, so he does tense up in response to the urgency in Yzak's voice and stance.
yet before he can step back and move to the kitchen, the creature catches Blue's scent and reappears, rushing over and leaping to scamper up his leg. surprise!]
[Blue would at this point just...freeze Yzak in place with telekinesis. but it's not working right now. all he can do instead is duck as Yzak's hand comes in for a swat, taking it on the shoulder for the rodent as it buries into his wrapped arms.
Blue does wince, but he doesn't make a sound of pain. instead:] Stop! It's alright!
[ Thankfully he wasn't going for something more along the lines of a punch, but he still puts some power into that swat!
It all happens in the span of a couple of seconds: the contact, the realization, the quickness with which Yzak's hand jerks back as if he just touched a hot stove. ]
[he takes a step away just to get some space to avoid any further swatting as he straightens up, grimacing. the mouse is now pressed tightly to his chest to keep it from scrambling further in its panic, though its ears and tails are twitching with that fear to convey it very much wishes to flee.]
The trial - you got caught up in one of those, too...
[ His mind begins to wander there, is Blue okay? Was he attacked or hurt during his trial? Yzak himself had some puzzles to solve and then a bit of fighting to do, but came out unharmed. Of course Blue with his amazing powers would also probably be able to deal with something dangerous.
Yzak swings his thoughts back to the mouse. ]

[ It's going to take him a moment. ] It... [ His brow furrows, and he stares at it for a long moment.
[ On one hand, if Blue is so understanding and forgiving, far be it from him to keep arguing that. (though he will get A Look™ when he tries to pull the blame onto himself)
On the other, Yzak still feels kind of bad! And it shows in the way his expression flickers, but doesn't entirely change. ]
You didn't mean to. [clearly. AND:] And there was little but panic behind it. [despite any arguments to the contrary, mister coordinator, that was a pretty flighty swat!]
You were aiming for what you thought was a dangerous intruder, not some errant swatting, Yzak.

That— that hardly changes anything! [ He stammers out, a near automatic response. Yzak doesn't exactly mean to liken something as truly insignificant as this to ... war crimes. But it's the phrasing that causes it - didn't mean to, aiming for one thing, assuming it was another - things he's heard before and had to dismiss because as he said, intent changes nothing in the end.
But after a moment of quick mental gymnastics, his tight expression gives as he tries to forcefully logic himself out of that line of thinking. Because it's not the same! He knows it! And yet, the mind could not help but go there anyway. How ridiculous. And all because of this ... mouse squirrel whatever thing.
He lets out a small grumble. ]
You're right - I get it! If you're fine, and it's fine, [ A quick nod down to the scared bundle of fluff in Blue's arms. ] then it's fine.
You gave each other quite a scare... [and while Yzak is trying to reconfigure the act of accidentally swatting his partner away from mass crimes against the Geneva Conventions, the little mouse's tiny, magical life just flashed before its eyes and ended in prospects of teeth and suffering.
Blue just has to keep poise to calm these wild tides, doesn't he.]
Let me settle this creature in another room to calm itself for a while; we can try a reintroduction later, yes?
[ While Blue does that, Yzak makes his way over to the couch, sets himself dramatically down on it with a poomf, the image of sulk sans the crossed arms since. Well.
He's Yzak. He gets troubled about the silliest things.

His eyes fall on Blue when he speaks again. He's still got on a little frown, but otherwise his expression has softened some. He's trying. ]
