Who he was afraid would look at Flynn so differently with Flynn's feelings flooding into him, would lock himself down so Flynn couldn't feel anything back—
but that's not fair, is it? To think of Yuri that way, when clearly that's... wrong.
It sends something warm and soft fluttering right through Flynn, enough to keep him warm even as he wanders along the half-frozen shore. ]

[Yuri doesn't need the empathy he's offering to know Blue's been getting anxious more and more as he and Flynn have been increasingly more absent in the waking hours. Blue understands their intentions, their convictions...but it still stings to be left alone, to have only a scant-few waking hours with them, left to worry over their dreams until his own weariness forces him away, only for him to wake to an empty home once again. he can assuage his fears by taking small walks, to even projecting his mind out to where they wander, but...
but they should be home. safe. with him. it should be enough.
...it's not enough. he's not enough. what a wicked thought - a bent, crooked truth which is angled so the shadow it casts is far greater than its true scale. mountains from molehills, indeed.

Blue reads them over multiple times with care, quietly and aloud, just to make sure he understands their meaning (the truest intentions will always be face-to-face, and he will likely have to wait for another nightfall for that).]

[ Yuri doesn't look at his Omni right away, because he might just keep checking it if he does. So he gets to work, cooking a more than adequate meal for the training camp, even though his eyes keep straying to the Omni.
It's strange, to create such an ultimatum of a question without seeing the other participants face to face.
With the stew on a simmer, Yuri finally gives in and lets himself look at the Omni, seeing responses from Flynn and Blue. His heart is in his throat and he's regretting asking (this might be it, he was too much, asked for too much) (but they love you, they want you to be happy, they've both said it). He reads through their messages, then reads through them again, and a different kind of nervousness settles in his gut.
They said yes. They both want to do it. At least, Blue does, and Flynn sounds like he does, he just needs more information. (they'll be too close, know too much, see right through him) (they already do, they can feel all of his feelings, see his thoughts, they know him maybe better than he knows himself).
Hands shaking a little, he manages to respond: ]

Yuri doesn't read, as a rule, but he had to know more, had the compulsion to know more about this because he suddenly wanted it, wanted it so very badly. He wants to have a family, to be that close with people, closer than humans usually can be. He wants that reassurance he's been getting from Flynn when they're in bed together, the love that radiates off of him.
Maybe this is selfish. Maybe they shouldn't do it, because it's selfish. He just wants to know that they want him there. ]

There is something else there too, something under the surface of Yuri's too-careless words. He only gets dismissive like that when he's trying to deflect and push away from the truth at the core of him, and Flynn has seen a little into his feelings recently to the depth of his own fear about himself. Yuri sees himself as a black thing, blotting out light.
Funny, because when Flynn looks at him all he sees are stars. ]

It sounds like a very permanent sort of thing. The kind of thing that he'd want Yuri and Blue to be very sure of, choosing him like this. It sounds a little like marriage, bonding and vows, but Flynn can't think any further down that path at all. ]
After all, this is our home, and it will be for the forseeable future.
[had Blue an ounce of shame for emotions in his body, maybe he'd be glad no one can see him cry? but as it stands, the tears don't care if there's an audience or not. it's fine; they're designed to be a comfort for him. the comfort of embracing these two godsends will have to wait until nightfall.]
